Who they are

Nolimit City was co-founded by Jonas Tegman and Per Lindheimer, both formerly of NetEnt, and built its studio between Sweden and Malta; in 2022 it had about a hundred people across Sweden, Malta and India.3,6

In June 2022 Evolution agreed to buy it for €200 million up front plus up to €140 million in earn-outs over 2023 to 2025; the deal completed on 8 August 2022. Under Evolution its games reached the United States in June 2024, launching in six states at once.4,5,7

What they are known for

Nolimit's games are built around registered mechanics with an x in the name. xWays reveals a stack of one symbol to add ways to win; xSplit splits the symbols beside it in two; xNudge moves a wild into view and raises its multiplier each step; xBomb blows symbols off the reels and raises the multiplier. The ceilings are extreme: Tombstone R.I.P. is listed at 300,000 times the stake and San Quentin at 150,000.8,9,10,11

Some of the rules change what a player gets back as much as any return figure does. xRIP, used in Tombstone R.I.P., pays nothing on a bonus whose total win is below the stake, and several games offer a paid Enhanced Bet that raises the cost of every spin.11

Nolimit City Limited holds Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2B/299/2015, according to the company, and the UK Gambling Commission lists it under account 52097 with software and game-host licences since October 2018 and no regulatory action recorded.1,2

Each official game page lists a single return (96.03% to 96.08% on the titles we read). We found no public statement on whether operators can choose lower versions. What changes the effective return here is the rules: xRIP and the paid Enhanced Bet.8,9,10,11
