Novomatic was founded in 1980 by Johann F. Graf in Gumpoldskirchen, south of Vienna, and built its business on land-based machines and gaming halls. Sizzling Hot and Lucky Lady's Charm arrived in 2003 and Book of Ra in 2005, all as cabinet games first. The group reported turnover of €3.6 billion for 2025.1,5

Its online games come from Greentube, a Viennese studio that began in 1998 with a 3D ski game. Novomatic took a majority in 2010 and the rest in 2011; Greentube now calls itself the group's digital gaming and entertainment division, with offices from Vienna and Las Vegas to Nottingham, Belgrade and Athens.3,4,7

What they are known for

The catalogue is the hall's greatest hits: Book of Ra, Sizzling Hot and Lucky Lady's Charm, remade and extended rather than designed online from scratch. The newer layer is mechanics added to the classics, such as Win Ways, which turns Book of Ra deluxe into a six-reel game with 117,649 ways and cascades.1,8,9

Greentube was the first Austrian supplier certified by the responsible-gaming body G4, in 2019.10

Licensing and compliance

Greentube GmbH is listed by the UK Gambling Commission under account 41020 with a remote software licence since March 2015, and holds MGA licence MGA/CRP/120/2006. Gibraltar's list of B2B licence holders includes Greentube (Gibraltar) Limited.6,7,11

Return to player

Greentube publishes volatility on its public game pages but keeps return figures behind a client login. A US help sheet we found gives a single theoretical return (95.00%) for one game. That makes its returns harder to check than at studios that print every version.8,12
